Over time, the interior of drainage pipes can be subject to considerable wear and tear. This can result in leaks, uneven areas, cracks, the incursion of tree roots, and changes in the gradient of the pipe or in the angle of bends. To get good-quality information on the interior condition of a pipe, the easiest thing to do is carry out a CCTV drain inspection.
A CCTV camera is mounted on a calibrated cable, which is then fed through the pipe. The camera films as it goes, capturing a detailed picture of the pipe’s interior. The calibrated cable means it’s easy to work out how far along the pipe the camera is, enabling the location of any problems to be accurately pinpointed. As well as live footage, the film is also recorded, so that it can be studied in more depth later on.
A cable-mounted CCTV drain inspection doesn’t involve any invasive or disruptive work. Our cables are long enough to provide a complete picture of the length of a drainage pipe until it connects with the main sewage pipe.
